Jason Fulford’s photographs seem sometimes cynical, sometimes sincere, but are generally always quirky. His images provide meditations on all sorts of landscapes – urban, suburban, rural – that often leave me simultaneously puzzled and in complete agreement. Through these photographs, I get the feeling that the landscape – and especially the sort of everyday landscape we understand as pedestrian and familiar – is a strange place.
